Rev. Dr. Jack Sara

President, Bethlehem Bible College

As president of Bethlehem Bible College in Palestine, Jack’s desire is to equip believers for the work of ministry through leadership training, church planting, and mobilizing the church for the work among Muslims. He travels frequently, teaching on missions and cross-cultural work in the Middle East as well as unity & reconciliation for the body of Christ. Prior to his role as president, he served as senior pastor of the Jerusalem Alliance Church for 13 years, under Jack’s leadership and guidance the church became one of the most influential churches serving among the majority group of the Palestinian people, several churches were planted as a result of their work.

Before coming to know the Lord in 1991, he was involved in political activism, including the Palestinian Intifada. He was imprisoned many times, and began to search for more meaning in life. The Lord placed people in his path who helped reveal his need for Christ, so he committed his life to Christ in 1991. He subsequently decided to attend Bethlehem Bible College to grow in knowledge of the Word, with the expectation that he would only study for a year or two. By the third year he sensed a clear calling for the work of the kingdom and committed his life to full time ministry.

Jack rejoices in his new life and calling. Whereas previously, he was more concerned about political and social freedom, he now cares most about the spiritual freedom of all people.

He holds a BA in biblical studies, an MDiv in pastoral studies and biblical counseling, and a doctorate from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in missions and cross-cultural studies.

Jack is blessed to have his wife, Madleine, and three children: Nathan, Maranatha, and Mickel. They live in Jerusalem, close to Bethlehem. His children attend a school nearby called Hand in Hand, a mixed school of Jewish and Arab students, with a focus on peace and coexistence.
